Boost your metabolism

Bodybuilding, Health, Lean Muscle, Nutrition, Uncategorized, Wellbeing

There are many ways natural and healthy ways to boost your metabolism here are some of them.

  1. Drink plenty of water – wake up and have a glass before anything else, keep drinking though the day as well.
  2. Fasted cardio – just a 30 min walk or jogg in the morning before breakfast boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day! Not only that, it’s a really good way of getting you head clear before the day starts.
  3. Ingredients – adding cinnamon, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic and mace will all help to boost that metabolism.
  4. Carbs before bed – believe it or not some people that consume complex carbs before bed end up burning more fat while they sleep!
  5. Fats before bed – in men fats before bed can boost testosterone which in turn can boost your metabolism.
  6. Quick cuppa – green, white and chai teas all claim to have “fat burning properties” not sure about that but they can boost your metabolism, which in turn would help your burn fat.
  7. High workout intensity – keeping your heart rate higher through your workouts will also kick start that metabolism for the rest of the day.
  8. Caffeine – don’t go crazy with it but yes caffeine does speed up your metabolism because you end up moving more.

Why is a fast metabolism good?

  • Firstly you can eat more and not gain weight 😋
  • Recovery from workouts and illnesses can be faster.
  • Your ability to burn fat and get lean is a lot easier.

Why is a fast metabolism bad?

  • Building muscle can be harder because your using up so much more energy just with your metabolism.
  • You have to keep it ignited – your metabolism will try to keep you alive, so if your food is suddenly reduced then your body will slow your metabolism down to keep your body alive.

Push day baby!

Push day 🏋🏼 highlights with a shoulders focus 📌I’m alternating my focus from chest to shoulders in on my 2 push days a week, shoulder have been a focus weak point on my physique this past year. Try to create a more balanced physique with broader Boulder shoulders 🙈 try to create that V taper!

@gymheadz SnapBack

Finished my triceps off at the end of the workout with some isolation work – use a trio set on the cable – rope pull down – overhead pull down – rope skull crushers 10 rep each

I decided that I would try to stretch more not just between sets, but in general. Stretching is a good way to improve flexibility, blood flow, reduce risk of injury, help injures to recover faster and reduce DOMS – my strength has been still improving despite my diet going change which is really good! 🙈

  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you
  • Nominate 5-11 bloggers who you think are deserving of the award
  • Let the bloggers know you nominated them
  • Give them 11 questions of your own

My answers to the questions Elizabeth gave me:
If you could spend a year anywhere on earth, where would it be?

Probably not what most people would like, but I would spend a year in a remote Artic camp somewhere out in the wild. I really like the remoteness and extreme environments…as long as I have a gym of course.

What do you love most about your life right now?

I love the capability of being able to help others and being able to make a living from it, weather that is helping someone to live a healthier life style as a online coach and personal trainer or save a life as a firefighter.

What is your favorite healthy meal?

I’m pretty simple when it comes to healthy meals, my favourite has to be a chicken stir fry or broccoli, chicken and sweet potato.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Noisy eaters!

Who do you most respect and/or want to be like (living or dead)?

This is a hard question for me, there are so many people I respect but I don’t think I would want to be like them. If I was I wouldn’t be me, I would like to be as driven as Martyn Luthar King, as disciplined as Bruce Lee, as imaginative as Walt Disney, as smart as Louis Pasteur and as ambitious as Christopher columbus.

Do you listen to music while you work out? If so, what style?

Oh boy do I!! I listen to a lot of different music whilst I workout my main choices are Podcasts on the apple Podcast app – “Tiesto, Trap, AOKI’s House, Hardwell On Air, AVICII” then when I’m doing cardio if its LISS – “Stuff you should know, Stuff to blow your mind, Scifi Friday”

What is your favorite smell?

Cinnamon and apple. This reminds me of Christmas and cozying up by the fire whilst its raining and cold outside.

When you have a bad day, what cheers you up?

A hard intense workout, this gets rid of all the stress and frustrations.

What is an obstacle you have personally overcome in your life?

I am dyslexic, which is one reason why i started to blog to help myself improve, I still struggle with some day to day things, but I have overcome a lot of things that I would normally be limited to because of my dyslexia.

Do you have any pets?

Nope, have done in the past but at the moment I simply don’t have the time.

What instrument would you play, if you could play anything?

Guitar, I love the sound of a guitar and the few simple chords that i do know, i really enjoy having a chill out in the sun and Jamming away.

Thank you for those questions Elizabeth 😀

and last, but not least, my nominees:

The Gym Douche Stereotype

Bodybuilding, Fitness, Gym, Health, Lean Muscle, Nutrition, Uncategorized, Workout

We have all see that guy that is starring at himself in the big gym mirrors with absolute desire and love for himself, I’m here to tell you not every gym goer is like this! Trust me!

Man in the mirror

Although I am guilty of checking my physique in the mirrors, I don’t do it to show off or to satisfy myself. I do it to critic and weigh up my physique if anything it’s the opposite of what the gym douche is doing, I’m not admiring myself I creating goals and focus points.

Mr steal your girl

Another stereotype is that the gym douche is a player with the ladies and gets all the girls in the clubs. I have been with my girlfriend for 4 and a half years. Before her I could count my girlfriends on my hands. I don’t think I have ever been overly confident or under confident. Having had 2 sisters and working with lots of women I think this has helped me see women with more respect that some other people.

Juiced up roider

Unfortunately a stereotype of the gym douche has taken a drug view as well. Steroids and other illegal substances have made it into the gym environment in many areas, I have been natural all my life no steroids, never used any illegal fat burners or appetite suppressants I compete in only natural competition and I will always remain natural!

Aragont and big headed

The full of himself self loving gym douche that thinks they are the best thing since Protien powder. If you haven’t read my last article on being humble I would recommend it for debunking this stereotype. My mind set is that anyone could and can achieve what I have, it just takes the mind set.

More Protien!

The gym douche that has more Protien than is on a horse! Walking round the gym with Protien powder trailing behind them. I try to get as much of my Protien from foods as I can (although I do believe Protien powder is a food, same as yogurt of milk) I limit my Protien to 1 g per pound of body weight.

Thanks for reading I hope this helps you to not judge those in the gym or those that go to the gym. For me the gym is a stress relief, therapy, playground and happy place.

Have a great day!
