Why is it important to stay humble?

Though out any achievement I take time to make sure I assess how each thing makes me feel and consequently act. I have never liked the cocky arrogant attitude when I have seen it in other people, so why would I want to portray that.

There is a big difference in being cocky and being confident, confidence is more about believing in yourself and valuing yourself rather than the cocky person who is big headed and full of themselves without valuing the people around them.

Staying humble in my achievements for me is pretty simple. I acknowledge that I have put in time and dedication – which with every mile stone you should be reflecting upon not just the successful result but also the successful process.

For example:

  • Doing well in a exam or job interview  – reflect on how your studied and researched, then next time you will bring the same success.
  • Doing well in a physique competition – reflect over your preparation.

Trial and error are one of the best forms or learning.

Then after I have acknowledged my process I also reflect over myself. There isn’t anything special about me, anyone could have chosen to do what I have done. Remember be proud of your achievements but don’t let it go to your head your still a human the same as everyone other human on this planet, all it takes is the mindset.

If you are a manager or someone with more “authority” in a work place environment and you think they you need to be intimidating or disrespectful to make your dominance clear, then I can tell you know, you won’t be getting my respect or anyone else’s. Fear isn’t respect.

So why is it important?

For me it’s important not only to not become a aragont a**hole, but also so I can help others. If you idolise yourself and put yourself above others then you won’t be able to help them. No one wants to be treated like a lesser person or feel like they are in some way not as good as you. Be relatable, be genuine.

Remembering this I think will help me become the best version of myself in mindset, physique and relationships.
